Our Early Head Start and Head Start centers are located throughout the Pine Ridge Reservation. We have 10 centers located in the following communities: Allen, Kyle, Manderson, Martin, Oglala, Porcupine, Pine Ridge, Wakpamni, Wanblee and Wounded Knee.There are 22 Head Start classrooms and 9 Early Head Start classrooms. Our Early Head Start program also includes a prenatal program. We serve 591 Early Head Start and Head Start students and prenatal applicants.Our Early Head Start classrooms serve children birth to 3 years of age. Our Head Start program serve students who are 3 to 5 years of age. We encourage all families to apply for our program.

Who is eligible for the Head Start/Early Head Start Program?

• Pregnant women and children ages Birth-5 who family income meets federal income guidelines
• Children with disabilities
• Foster Children
• Children whose families are homeless, or
• Children of families exceeding these guidelines may be eligible based on specific needs

Please Bring the Following When Enrolling You Child

• Verification of your family's income for the past 12 months, including child support, unemployment, college grants/scholarships, SSI and TANF
• Proof of your child's immunization records
• Documentation to verify your child's date of birth
• Medicaid/Medicare or Private Insurance Card (if applicable)
• Diagnosed Disability Documentation (if applicable)
